Discover our exclusive collection of handmade Byzantine icons, crafted with devotion and deep respect for the Orthodox tradition. Every piece is entirely handmade in our workshop in Greece and reflects the timeless beauty and spirituality of Byzantine art.
🔹 Product Description
This exceptional iconostasis presents the Crucifixion of Our Lord Jesus Christ through a deeply spiritual and theological composition. Entirely handcrafted from solid beech wood, it faithfully reproduces the theological significance and artistic beauty of the authentic Orthodox icon.
The triptych composition features the Crucified Christ at its center, flanked by the Most Holy Theotokos and His beloved disciple, capturing the sacred moment of divine sorrow and humanity's salvation.
The Cross is mounted on a beautifully carved base representing Golgotha, from which extend two symbolic spears: one represents the spear that pierced Christ's side, while the other represents the reed with the sponge soaked in vinegar that was offered to Him during His final moments on the Cross.
Every detail of the composition has been thoughtfully designed to strengthen both its artistic narrative and its profound theological message.
Left Panel
• The Most Holy Theotokos in mourning.
• Mary Magdalene and the Holy Myrrh-bearing Women, witnesses of Christ's Passion and later His Resurrection.
Right Panel
• Saint John the Theologian, to whom Christ entrusted the care of His Mother.
• Saint Longinus, the Roman centurion who pierced the Lord's side and later confessed: "Truly this was the Son of God."
🔹 Artistic Process
All of our icons are faithful reproductions of authentic Byzantine prototypes. They are created using high-quality lithographic printing on paper mounted onto canvas, which is then carefully adhered to solid fir wood (never MDF). Each piece is individually enhanced by hand using our signature aging technique and protected with an eco-friendly water-based varnish for maximum durability over time.
Every piece is handcrafted with love and dedication, making it truly one of a kind. Slight variations in shape or patina are a natural result of the handmade process.
🔹 Materials
Solid fir wood, iron, canvas, paper, and, depending on the design, bronze, copper, fabric, and 8-karat gold leaf (used on selected icons or upon request).
We use only solid natural wood for authenticity and durability—never MDF.
🔹 Certificate of Authenticity
Every icon is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

🔹 The Story Behind the Icon
All four Gospels conclude with detailed accounts of the Passion of Christ—His arrest, trial, Crucifixion, Burial, and glorious Resurrection.
Christians honor the Crucifixion as the supreme act of divine love and sacrifice, through which Christ took upon Himself the sins of humanity. Within the Orthodox Church, this saving sacrifice is continually made present through the unbloody sacrifice of the Holy Eucharist and is especially commemorated on Great and Holy Friday.
Thank you for visiting our shop. May this sacred iconostasis bring peace, faith, and serenity to you and your home.
