🔹 Product Description

This handmade wooden diptych is an impressive work of traditional Orthodox craftsmanship. The front features two large central icons of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary Portaitissa (The Gatekeeper), with genuine gold leaf adorning their halos. These are beautifully framed by smaller icons depicting Archangel Michael, Archangel Gabriel, Saint George, and Saint Demetreos.

The diptych is crafted from solid fir wood and enriched with visible brass and iron decorative elements, including antique nails, ornamental brass connectors, and traditional metal hinges. The exterior is embellished with decorative bronze corner pieces and a bronze cross. Every part of the piece is hand-finished using our signature aging technique, giving it the appearance of a sacred heirloom preserved through the centuries.

🔹 Artistic Process

All of our icons are faithful reproductions of authentic Byzantine prototypes. They are created using high-quality lithographic printing on paper mounted onto canvas, which is then carefully adhered to solid fir wood (never MDF). Each icon is enhanced with hand-finished artistic details, our signature aging technique, and protected with an eco-friendly water-based varnish to ensure exceptional durability over time.

Because every piece is handcrafted, slight variations may occur, making each icon truly unique.

Every order is carefully packaged with protective bubble wrap to ensure safe delivery and arrives in excellent condition.

We use only natural solid wood for authenticity, durability, and long-lasting quality. Never MDF.

Alexander Stratoulis is an official member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece. Every stage of the design and finishing process is carried out exclusively in the GENESIS workshop using our distinctive artistic aging technique.

🔹 Returns Policy

According to European legislation, works of art are non-returnable.

However, we do accept returns under the following conditions:

• Please contact us within 14 days of delivery.

• Return the item at your own expense using the same shipping carrier.

• Refunds are issued only after we receive and inspect the item to verify that it remains in its original condition.

• If the item has been damaged during return shipping, you will be informed of any restoration costs before the refund is processed.
